A shaggy grandfather hickory tree-hug this morning. Soft green moss-mittens at the entrance of a tree-hollow. I wonder who lives there. Perhaps the bark-couple holding hands are headed down for a visit. The stream nearby was full and rushing loudly after all the rain. White coral fungus was popping up. And a Two-colored Bolete caught my eye on the trail. Pay attention to where your senses lead you in nature. Be open and curious. Learning never ends. 💚 Peace

I think this might be my first spruce tree-hug. This multi-eyed one resides on the edge of the property. Surprised to have a visitor today. Able to see the large and small at the same time. While on the other side of the house a smitten sugar-maple has its eye on a beautiful flowering Rose-of-Sharon. A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we will find it not." 💚 Peace
A woodland tree-hug this morning. I ventured a little off the trail to visit this birch off-shoot growing on a rock. An oompa-loompal bark-being was practicing his rowing stroke. A good idea with all this rain. If you can't enjoy the rain you can at least enjoy the many unique mushrooms popping up. A parasol mushroom with its own leaf-parasol. A talking sun-mushroom man with a star-eye. A spooked mushroom-ghost. Bright orange mushroom-twins. Stay safe in the storm. 💚 Peace
An at-home tree-hug today. So far I have counted 4 peace trees (Eastern White Pine) in the yard. A serene tree-being in this one holds the peace with grace and balance. And if you like hot pink you'll appreciate this amazing Celosia new to my garden. Find your balance in Nature and don't forget to add a splash of color for magic. 💚 Peace
Tree-hugging is a continual adventure. You never know what you will see or who you will meet. A lovely tree-lady and her curious neighbor peeking through the leaves. A fantastic etched shell nestled deep in a bark-crevice. Home to a traveling tree-snail. And a big-eyed bark-bear hiding in an old tree-wound. Later back home a not-so-hidden real bear returned to raid the bird feeder! He's headed back into the woods here. And the best news of all - our new kitty 💕💕💕 He's a real sweetie. Step into your heart and find your strength in love. 💚 Peace
Back to the woods for my walk this morning. My tree-gargoyle friend always reminds me to 'listen'. The healing power of trees continues to amaze me. Same tree, looking up. And on the trail a focused salamander made a u-turn. Look, listen, adjust when necessary.💚 Peace
Another yard tree-hug today. I'm glad I'm getting to know my yard-trees better. One of these days I'm going to do a survey of all the different kinds of trees sharing this space with me. Tree-hugging isn't just a physical hug. It is being present with the energy of the tree-being. Being aware of the uniqueness of bark and limb and leaf. Allowing the life and world of the tree to speak to you. You never know what you will see or where your attention will be drawn. Let the trees help bring you into the moment. 💚 Peace
An oak tree-hug in the yard today. A wonderful smiley fellow. Interestingly I was also drawn to visit 'RB' a red bark dogwood we got as a sapling a few years ago at a Master Gardeners sale. I got to witness a cicada emerging from its chrysalis. Very cool! Listen to the whispers of your heart. 💚 Peace (PS: I moved it off to the woods)
An exotic tree-lady hug in the yard yesterday. Her stylish summer-leaves hairdo looked quite spectacular. There are so many birds in my yard (thanks to a well stocked bird feeder) I wasn't surprised to see this regal tree bird-being keeping watch. Take time to visit a tree and let your magic awaken. 💚 Peace
The stream was full and rushing through the woods this afternoon. There were trees down across the trail in many places. The mountain bikers already turned this one into a skill-builder. In a more serene section of the woods a tree-hug was invited. While there were magical-happenings in the hollow.. Amidst the sadness and loss new beginnings take root. 💚 Peace
A wise sugar-maple tree-hug this morning. Where some charming tree-characters reside. Unique in every way. Also home to a traveling daddy long-legs. And a curious rock-frog popped out from behind the ancient weathered roots. Take a breath and step into the magic of nature. It awaits us in every moment. 💚 Peace
A ragged hemlock tree-hug this morning. This lovely tree-dancer flowed with the light. While down below a happy wood-gremlin headed out for an adventure. 💚 Peace
Losing a beloved pet suddenly is a sting to the heart. Perhaps that's why a not-so-friendly bee-friend left its stinger in my leg. Ouch. All part of life. Trees are good listeners if your heart feels like crying. 💚 Peace
Backyard tree-hug on the day our cat Perseus crossed the rainbow bridge. He would sometimes run straight out the door to this tree and enjoy a really good stretched-out scratch on the trunk. Or maybe it was Perseus' way of saying hello to this most interesting looking tree-being. 💚 Peace
Tree-hug with a friendly tree-hugger. Looked like a lightning bolt but it's just where the bark was dry. Beautifully crafted tree-body art. And nearby a delicate mushroom-sculpture that popped up overnight. Nature is the ultimate artist, indeed. 💚 Peace
I came upon this special-one as I wandered between the raindrops this afternoon. There was some tree-hugging going on. And I put together a colorful bouquet from my garden. Appreciate in this moment you have everything you need. 💚 Peace
Back to the woods this morning. The light was beautiful and called me to this elegant tree. A wise and kind tree-face looked out. And offered a soft place for my heart to rest. On the way back a lovely Canada lily-lady was hanging out. Let the light lead your way. Trust the beauty in your soul to find its way through the tangle of life. 💚 Peace
A backyard tree-hug this morning. The hot weather kept me home and I got a chance to meet a yard tree I never paid much attention to. A real beauty. Contentment is finding peace and beauty in your own backyard. 💚 Peace
There were some handsome tree-folk present in this mighty-one. Nearby a bouquet-bloom of bursting summer-yellowness. And I don't want to leave out the windmilled mushroom-flower barely noticed on the trail. Experience the fun, beauty, uniqueness, truth, purpose, and place of all the woodland entities. 💚 Peace And this interesting tree-information just came in my email, "Underneath Albany's streets lie a series of hollow tree trunks - remnants of the city's first public water system. Albany Water Department employees have often found the hollowed tree trunks while making repairs, and they dug up some ancient wooden mains in early June. Albany's water system dates back to the late 1600's and is the second-oldest in the country." Aren't trees amazing!!!
This morning's tree-hug. Graceful dancing-trunks above. Cozy trunk-buddies below. And a soulful-eyed much weathered tree-being with a curious look. There is so much to see when you open your heart to a tree-friend. 💚 Peace
Wow! A picture of my tree-hug this morning. Tree-song and celebration. Welcome back to the woods, Stanley! 💚Still no weight-bearing, but he's getting good enough on those crutches for a short meander down the road. Visit your tree-friends. Step into the healing-forest world. 💚 Peace
