Tree-Hug on July 31
An unusual sight this morning. I'm not absolutely sure, but it looks like a tree seed took root in this tree hollow and grew up through the hollow.
It grew up pretty high but when I looked more closely I didn't see any leaves on the younger tree. It needed more room to expand.
Being dispersed by wind, water and animals tree seeds don't always land in an ideal place. Which is why trees produce millions of seeds.
On the drive home I saw a tall thin great blue heron standing on the side of the road. When it saw the car coming it flew onto a tree stump in the swamp. Message: Expand your options for growth as best you can. Find what works best for you to hold your truth. Step into the moment. 💚 Peace

It was a beautiful morning for a walk in the woods. I came upon this most unusual tree - which you may remember from last year.
A very loveable trunk-being looked at me curiously.
While another gave me a more grumpy side-eye look.
The fungus continue to emerge and amaze. The common name for this bumpy fellow is old-man-of the-woods.
And there was a beautiful pink coral fungus, similar to the white one I saw last week.
Nearby a weary birch-creature rested. I hope you enjoy the coming weekend and experience some nature-magic. 💚 Peace

A beautiful twin-tree hug this morning in the woods.
Just like us, no two trees are alike.
Each trees life story told through its splits, curves, swerves, wrinkles, textures and more. Trees show us what worked for them and what didn't. They're not shy about showing us who they are. Appreciate the trees and appreciate yourself. 💚
Nearby a bright orange fungus.
Also not shy about making a statement.
And a sea of micro-mushrooms on a generous tree-stump. Step out into nature. Hug the trees. Make new friends. They're waiting for us to join the Earth. 💚 Peace
Tree-Hug on July 28
A reach-for-the-sky tree-hug this morning. There was a gentle breeze singing through the leaves.
Trees have intelligence. They adjust and move their energy to where it is needed the most.
A path of growth and transformation.
And embraced in a hollow grandmother bark-being prayed for peace, harmony and healing.
Tree-Hug on July 27
A fine old-oak tree-hug this morning. With an interesting abstract rock-sculpture in his front-yard.
It's nice to know rock-beings can have cute faces.
A big-eyed hanger kind of stuck in place looked cute too but in a grump way.
And a mysterious disc might have been flying through the woods. Stillness and movement are part of the whole. Relax and appreciate the journey. 💚 Peace

An interesting hickory tree-hug this morning. It's getting very buggy outside, even in the yard. I have been wearing a head net and using doTerra TerraShield insect spray. I remain alert to bees, poison ivy and bears. Always check for ticks, too. It's worth it to commune with these amazing keepers of the land. 💚 Peace
TRee-Hug on July 25
A woodland tree-hug off the trail this morning.
A fallen limb with curious eyes rested against the trunk .
Everything has a place in the scheme of things.
The mushrooms continue to display their unique beauty. Celebrate being you wherever you may be. 💚 Peace
Tree-Hug on July 24
A comforting sugar-maple hug in the yard this afternoon.
I found a loving tree-couple looking down with compassion. Peace is closer than we think. Waiting for us to remember. 💚 Peace
Tree-Hug on July 23
A happy smiling tree-hug yesterday morning. It felt good to get back to the woods and with such beautiful weather.
A quite handsome tree-profile.
A great laughing tree-character on the left-trunk.
And a beautiful velvety-looking fungus called me back to take its picture. I believe it's a shiny cinnamon polypore. Nature is magical. Enjoy the light and the love. 💚Peace
Tree-Hug on July 22
I am reading Meditations of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Last night I read '...the trees are imperfect men, and seem to bemoan their imprisonment, rooted in the ground...'. I thought of it this morning when I came upon these roots traveling down the trail.
It was hard to tell which tree or trees the roots were from but I was drawn to this magnificent chestnut oak.
A powerful and unique presence standing proud along the rocky trail.
Its roots, seen and unseen, told their own story of tree-movement and freedom.

Another yard tree-hug today. I counted 6 more Peace trees (Eastern White Pine) on the property. It feels good getting to know them as tree-beings.
Yard-trees have features you don't see in woodland-trees. Like smooth cut limb-wounds. They have stories of living closer to people.
A smiling eye-patched pirate dressed in a layered bark-cloak told me they can still be a bit wild.
And there was a pleasant tree-mandala meditation-moment.
Nearby a more secluded white pine peeked through the shrubs. I never had noticed him before. Lately I've been thinking the trees are the actual land-owners and we are their guests. 💚 Peace

A shaggy grandfather hickory tree-hug this morning.
Soft green moss-mittens at the entrance of a tree-hollow. I wonder who lives there.
Perhaps the bark-couple holding hands are headed down for a visit.
The stream nearby was full and rushing loudly after all the rain.
White coral fungus was popping up.
And a Two-colored Bolete caught my eye on the trail. Pay attention to where your senses lead you in nature. Be open and curious. Learning never ends. 💚 Peace
Tree-Hug on July 18
I think this might be my first spruce tree-hug. This multi-eyed one resides on the edge of the property.
Surprised to have a visitor today.
Able to see the large and small at the same time.
While on the other side of the house a smitten sugar-maple has its eye on a beautiful flowering Rose-of-Sharon. A quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we will find it not." 💚 Peace
Tree-Hug on July 17
A woodland tree-hug this morning. I ventured a little off the trail to visit this birch off-shoot growing on a rock.
An oompa-loompal bark-being was practicing his rowing stroke. A good idea with all this rain.
If you can't enjoy the rain you can at least enjoy the many unique mushrooms popping up. A parasol mushroom with its own leaf-parasol.
A talking sun-mushroom man with a star-eye.
A spooked mushroom-ghost.
Bright orange mushroom-twins. Stay safe in the storm. 💚 Peace

An at-home tree-hug today. So far I have counted 4 peace trees (Eastern White Pine) in the yard.
A serene tree-being in this one holds the peace with grace and balance.
And if you like hot pink you'll appreciate this amazing Celosia new to my garden. Find your balance in Nature and don't forget to add a splash of color for magic. 💚 Peace

Tree-hugging is a continual adventure. You never know what you will see or who you will meet.
A lovely tree-lady and her curious neighbor peeking through the leaves.
A fantastic etched shell nestled deep in a bark-crevice.
Home to a traveling tree-snail.
And a big-eyed bark-bear hiding in an old tree-wound.
Later back home a not-so-hidden real bear returned to raid the bird feeder! He's headed back into the woods here.
And the best news of all - our new kitty 💕💕💕 He's a real sweetie. Step into your heart and find your strength in love. 💚 Peace
tree-hug on july 14
Back to the woods for my walk this morning. My tree-gargoyle friend always reminds me to 'listen'.
The healing power of trees continues to amaze me.
Same tree, looking up.
And on the trail a focused salamander made a u-turn. Look, listen, adjust when necessary.💚 Peace

Another yard tree-hug today. I'm glad I'm getting to know my yard-trees better. One of these days I'm going to do a survey of all the different kinds of trees sharing this space with me.
Tree-hugging isn't just a physical hug. It is being present with the energy of the tree-being.
Being aware of the uniqueness of bark and limb and leaf. Allowing the life and world of the tree to speak to you.
You never know what you will see or where your attention will be drawn. Let the trees help bring you into the moment. 💚 Peace

An oak tree-hug in the yard today.
A wonderful smiley fellow.
Interestingly I was also drawn to visit 'RB' a red bark dogwood we got as a sapling a few years ago at a Master Gardeners sale. I got to witness a cicada emerging from its chrysalis. Very cool! Listen to the whispers of your heart. 💚 Peace (PS: I moved it off to the woods)
tree-hug on july 10
An exotic tree-lady hug in the yard yesterday. Her stylish summer-leaves hairdo looked quite spectacular.
There are so many birds in my yard (thanks to a well stocked bird feeder) I wasn't surprised to see this regal tree bird-being keeping watch. Take time to visit a tree and let your magic awaken. 💚 Peace
tree-hug on july 9
The stream was full and rushing through the woods this afternoon.
There were trees down across the trail in many places. The mountain bikers already turned this one into a skill-builder.
In a more serene section of the woods a tree-hug was invited.
While there were magical-happenings in the hollow.. Amidst the sadness and loss new beginnings take root. 💚 Peace

A wise sugar-maple tree-hug this morning.
Where some charming tree-characters reside.
Unique in every way.
Also home to a traveling daddy long-legs.
And a curious rock-frog popped out from behind the ancient weathered roots. Take a breath and step into the magic of nature. It awaits us in every moment. 💚 Peace
