My tree-hug this morning was with a striped maple.
Its unusual green striped bark caught my eye.
It's called 'whistlewood' because its bark can be made into whistles. I read its leaves are favored by boy scouts camping out.
A thick above ground root connected these two trees to each other.
Nearby a 'downy yellow violet' with its own tree-markings peeked out. Hug a tree, smile at a flower, be happy for today. 💚 Peace
